Global Warming At The London Olympics

This is what global warming looks like.

The last time London hosted the Olympics was in 1948. King George VI opened the games at the end of July in 35C weather.

After 74 years of unprecedented global warming, the forecast high in London for Sunday is 19C – a cool down of only 16 degrees coming on the heels of the worst first half of summer on record.

Nice to see some of the men still keeping their coats on.

Been a very nice week actually, 25-27C and sunny, seems even hotter after all the rain.

  2. We’re constantly being told on TV that the 2012 Olympics is a “once-in-a-lifetime” experience for us Brits. Presumably there’s no-one alive here who was around in 1948, or is this crap from the kind of people who think that “unprecedented” means “since 1979” or “since 1988”, or maybe whatever they want it to mean?

BTW, rain forecast for much of next week. I know that’s true, I read it on the Met Office website.
