The dCO2/dT is remarkable. I got the same thing during the 1998 El Nino. Mine was 8.3ppm/yr/°C change (the correlation slope). Yes, temperature changes drive that huge a response in the atmospheric CO2 level. This is why a small amount of warming taken over a long time can actually have a very large impact on CO2 levels (and recovery out of the LIA may explain a very large outgassing of CO2 from the oceans). A huge impact on dCO2 with tropical temperature changes is very obvious in the article’s charts. It’s tough to deseasonalize that well to reveal the detail, so the authors did a very nice job. You’ll see that mine is a little more choppy, but mine retains monthly data, not annual.

IPCC AR4 “Commitment” scenario suggests that global temperatures are no higher than they would have been had CO2 had not increased since 2000.
That scenario is the only one which has so far been correct, a fact which should be pointed out to all warmists.
They had to put the scam on hold during the period 1977-1979, which were by far the 3 coldest consecutive winters in US History. Likewise during the 1980’s, when the orange juice industry moved about 70 miles south due to repeated devastating freezes. But finally during the 1990’s the scam moved forward, because for a few years, it did warm. But even that stopped after 1998.
From the next page (769) in the AMETSOC paper: “There has been a clear tendency for the rate of increase of CO2 at Mauna Loa and the South Pole to be augmented at the time of the temperature maxima associated with this oscillation.”
Translation: CO2 concentration (and/or emission?) goes up when temperature goes up, not the other way around… right?

Yep. The effect is pronounced and instantaneous. Up to 0.7ppm/month/°C
