It is also scary that he would spout such nonsense in a public forum and somehow feel that he had the moral high ground and so such behaviour is justified. Dangerous stuff.

And when they spout stuff like this they expect we will believe them and accept their moral authority…

      You are correct.

It is a form of divide and conquer. The Bankers and Corporate elite are using the sheepskin of socialism to stir up moral indignation against those who believe in the Constitution as written.

      • Gamecock says:

Got a cite for that, Gail?

        • Gail Combs says:

It is more bits and pieces that I have put together over the last couple of decades, but here are a bunch of citations that help build a picture of what is actually going on:

The Fabians/Rhodes have been working towards a world government for over one hundred years and the US Constitution is a major stumbling block.

          by John Coleman

The Tavistock Institute of Human Relations has had a profound effect on the moral, spiritual, cultural, political and economic policies of the United States of America and Great Britain. It has been in the front line of the attack on the U.S. Constitution and State constitutions. 13. Greg Locke says:

The elimination of carbon based fuelsforin the generation of electricity will profoundly change the world. Tens of millions will die from unheated homes in the winter, uncooled buildings in the summer, and spoiled food year round. When modern sanitation services shut down, billions will die from cholera, dysentery and other diseases spread by tainted water. The future will become the past we moderns have eliminated; a world where life is nasty, brutish and short. Who are the real criminals in this debate?

    • Gail Combs says:

I did a quicky calculation and with out carbon based energy or nuclear power to take its place, you are looking at not the 1800s but the seventeen hundreds!

People forget that coal was very much in use in the 1800s and a lot of farm machinery pulled by horse, mule or oxen was factory made. (First Agricultural Revolution) Without coal you are back to charcoal as fuel for forges and metal implements will be very very rare. Solar panels and modern wind turbines can not be replaced using the power they generate so you are back to hydro (If the eco-nuts allow dam building) and old fashion cloth and wood wind mills. And those wind mills would soon be raided for the wood to burn.

Worse the western high tech people of today do not have the foggiest idea of how to survive without factory made equipment. Even the Amish buy factory equipment and they are the most well adapted to an 1800s lifestyle.

I posted my calculations on an article by David Appell and his head exploded. He tried to refute what I said but kept tripping over his tongue.

This is what I posted back in 2011 (with the usual mangling of the URLs) BTW, Anyone who wants to use what I write is very welcome to do so. Steal my ideas with my full blessing.
      ….
I am going to comment on that.

We get all types of “Soothing” crap from the propaganda machines and economic model projections about how it really is going to be “painless”
So Let us look at what real facts tell us.

The average for the USA is 335.9 million BTUs per person. (Total population: 246,081,000)
      (wwwDOT)nuicc.info/?page_id=1467 or (wwwDOT)fas.org/sgp/crs/misc/R40187.pdf

In 1949, U.S. energy use per person stood at 215 million Btu. epb(DOT)lbl.gov/homepages/Rick_Diamond/docs/lbnl55011-trends.pdf
       epb.lbl.gov

The U.S. in 1800 had a per-capita energy consumption of about 90 million Btu. (Total population: 5,308,483) (wwwDOT)bu.edu/pardee/files/2010/11/12-PP-Nov2010.pdf

If the USA reduces its energy consumption by 80% it equals 45.18 million Btu. per person, given the increase in technology and hydro power, lets use the 1800 consumption level of about 90 million Btu. per person.

      What does that mean?
The site inventors(DOT)about.com/library/inventors/blfarm4.htm helps us figure that out.

Farmers made up about 90% of labor force  in 1790 and 69% of labor force in 1800. (2.6% in 1990)

About 250-300 labor-hours required to produce 100 bushels (5 acres) of wheat with walking plow, brush harrow, hand broadcast of seed, sickle, and flail in 1830. (This is all by hand not animal power BTW) (1987 – 2-3/4 labor-hours required to produce 100 bushels but that takes lots of oil.)

1810-30 saw the transfer of “manufacturing” from the farm and home to the shop and factory. It wasn’t until the 1840′s that we saw factory made farm machinery, labor saving devices and chemical fertilizers became at all common. It was in the 1860′s that kerosene lamps became popular.

Also up until the 1850′s dung and wood were the major source of energy. dieoff(DOT)org/page199_files/image002.gif

In other words for the USA to use HALF the energy per person that was used in 1800 we must abandon ALL factories and 90% of the population must return to subsistence farming using animals if enough farm machinary can be produced.

Remember in 1800 there was only 2% of the current population in the USA. Solar and Wind just are not going to produce enough power to keep us in anything but a few lights, a few wells and if we are lucky a refrigerator for the entire town. FACTORIES use a huge amount of power and that is why cotton mills and other primitive factories were built on rivers.
Anyone who tries to tell you differently is talking baffle gab because at present less than 9% of the US labor force is in manufacturing. The USA got rid of most of its really energy intense industry like smelting the ores to make machines. The USA shipped its factories to China and I mean that literally because I knew a guy whose busines was packing up and shipping factories in New England to Israel.

      “Cut CO2 emissions by 80% by 2050???

What do they plan to do wipe out 75% of the population to do it?

What no one ever mentions is civilization is built on energy.
For most of history that energy was from slaves and animals. Only with the advent of machinery did abolishing slavery actually become a viable economic alternative. Get rid of dependable energy and the labor saving machines it powers and you have to substitute human and animal energy. Unfortunately this means a sharp reduction in food production, population and miserable living conditions for all but the select few.

It only takes a day trying to clear brush from land with loppers and a buck saw to really appreciate a tractor or bulldozer and the harsh reality of what labor saving devices really are all about.
      …..

Here is one (greenie) paper on energy use (It under estimates the pre-industrial ag era energy use drastically) (wwwDOT)wou.edu/las/physci/GS361/electricity%20generation/HistoricalPerspectives.htm

The above paper has Advanced Agricultural Man as 26,000 Kcal per capita (1850’s) and the technological man of 1970 in the U.S. consuming approximately 230,000 Kcal of energy per day. ~ 8.8 times as much energy consumed) Other sources have the per capita use for the USA as 333.8 million BTUs per person in 2006 before the economy crashed: (wwwDOT)fas.org/sgp/crs/misc/R40187.pdf

The U.S. in 1800 had a per-capita energy consumption of about 90 million Btu. (wwwDOT)bu.edu/pardee/files/2010/11/12-PP-Nov2010.pdf

This is only 3.7 times as much energy consumed NOT 8.8 times If you are talking GREEN you can not use the much lower energy demand in the UK “.. at about 26 million BTU per capita in 1800, and again most of this would have been for heating and cooking. [because] The energy was largely from coal…”

This “Advanced Agricultural Man” of the greenies is when people were using 250-300 labor-hours to produce 100 bushels of wheat from 5 acres of land with walking plow, brush harrow, hand broadcast of seed, and a sickle, and flail for harvesting by hand. It was not until the 1830’s that you had the reaper, threshing machine, and iron faced interchangable plow invented and the 1940s was when they were manufactured in factories. Once you have factories that energy consumption is going to increase. The change from hand power to horse power (the first American agricultural revolution) was not until the 1860s when methods of attaching animals to farm machinery was developed.

For comparison in 1987 it only took 3 labor-hours to produce 100 bushels of wheat from 3 acres of land (Ain’t CO2 fertilization great) with tractors, 35-foot sweep disk, 30-foot drill, and a 25-foot self-propelled combine. By 1970 one American farmer was supplying over 75 people with food.

      • Greg Locke says:

        Amen, Miss Gail

      • David A says:

Yes, and E.M. Smith is not just an IT guy, (as someone up-thread posted) but also an economist by education, and a damm good one by a genius IQ matched by extraordinary common sense. He has explained in detail how and why energy is THE life blood of EVERY economy.

  14. The above exchange, on the part of that other, “liberal” fellow, is straight out of Huffington Post, which is absolutely overrunning with the Insane Left. They are not communists (even though they like to pretend they are “brothers” among themselves–which is also remindful of the “brotherhood” of Muslims, in that false religion’s dogma about the community of Believers). I repeat, they are not communists, they have merely gone technically insane: They absolutely refuse to accept reality over their own desire to be on top and in control (which the insane can never be–reality is the immovable object to their pretensions of being the unstoppable force).

    • Gail Combs says:

They are not ‘insane’ they have just swallowed the Marxist/Hegellian philosophy whole. Because the system is now rigged to ‘Protect kids’ from reality they remain under the illusion that as Hegel put it reality only exists in the mind. I actually had this crap thrown at me at a management seminar at Louisiana University for foreman and first tier managers. (There was a R/R track and frequent trains outside the window I used them to refute the prof. much to the amusement of the students. Dang, he wouldn’t give me his car keys and sign over his house before lying on the tracks….)

      The Hegelian philosophy

…The one universal phenomenon is change, and the only universal form of this phenomenon is its complete abstraction. Thus, Hegel accepted as real only that which existed in the mind….

In the Hegelian philosophy no idea could exist without an opposite… Consequently, in this realm of the mind within which the universe had its only real existence, innumerable theses and antitheses existed. Struggle or conflict was the en-evitable fact in such a universe—conflict of the thesis with its antithesis. In this struggle thesis and antithesis acted and reacted on each other, and a new phenomenon—synthesis—was created. All action or change occurring in the universe was, under the Hegelian philosophy, the product of thesis, antithesis, and resulting synthesis—all in the realm of ideas, since objective reality could exist only in that sphere….
      (wwwDOT)economictheories.org/2008/12/philosophy-of-karl-marx.html

Reality, in the form of a swat on the rear or a major bump from rough and tumble play, has been removed as much as possible from the lives of middle class kids. We now wrap them in cotton batting and drug them at school. This was not by chance either. See The Hand that Rocked the Cradle: A Critical Analysis of Rockefeller Philanthropic Funding, 1920-1960

It was also Rockefeller who funded John Dewey’s 1896 experimental Laboratory School where he could test the effects of the new psychology on real live children.

Dewey’s philosophy had evolved from Hegelian idealism to socialist materialism, and the purpose of the school was to show how education could be changed to produce little socialists and collectivists instead of little capitalists and individualists. It was expected that these little socialists, when they became voting adults, would dutifully change the American economic system into a socialist one. [Think the 1960-1970s flower children Activists]

In order to do so he analyzed the traditional curriculum that sustained the capitalist, individualistic system and found what he believed was the sustaining linchpin — that is, the key element that held the entire system together: high literacy. To Dewey, the greatest obstacle to socialism was the private mind that seeks knowledge in order to exercise its own private judgment and intellectual authority. High literacy gave the individual the means to seek knowledge independently. It gave individuals the means to stand on their own two feet and think for themselves. This was detrimental to the “social spirit” needed to bring about a collectivist society….

What we are seeing is the result of over one hundred years of intentional brainwashing of the American public by the ‘socialist’ banker/corporate elite. That half of the population has not fallen for the crap is amazing.

      • Shazaam says:

Not all schools have complied. Thankfully my kids were out before the pogrom began in their former school system. Their comment was that all the good teachers had been “retired” or left soon after the new administration came in….

And on that note. If and when the brainwashed become aware they’ve been hoodwinked systematically, their fury and resentment will be something we’ve not seen the likes of since the french revolution. The Awakening of the masses is what I suspect that the folks running things should really be afraid of…..

        • Gail Combs says:

Why do you think the Department of Homeland Security is stockpiling Ammo? link Obama has primed the USA for major riots. J.D. Robb has a whole set of novels set in the late 21st century after the Urban Wars. I wonder if she knows something we don’t. {:>)

Think about it. When Obummer took office coal was 42% of US electric generation. After his EPA got started with his “War on Coal” about 10.6% or more will be shutdown permanently and another 1/3 shut down for 18 months at a time over a three year period to retrofit EPAs new Mercury regs. (figure 10% temporarily shut down for three years). Nuclear is 19% of the base load generation and 1/3 may be shutdown. (6%) Some of the Hydro has also gone off-line depending on droughts and whether the Eco-nuts get dams removed.

EPA thought the Mercury regulations will only shutter 9.5 GW (2.9%) of electricity generation capacity. But all total you could be looking at 20 to 25% or more of the US electric generation taken off-line by 2015. (Retirement of the nuclear plants depends on the whim of the government.)

The government had a plan to handle reduction of the power supply but I do not think it has been implemented to the degree necessary to prevent major problems. Like continuous rolling blackouts.

The Department of Energy Report 2009

A smart grid is needed at the distribution level to manage voltage levels, reactive power, potential reverse power flows, and power conditioning, all critical to running grid-connected DG systems, particularly with high penetrations of solar and wind power and PHEVs…. Designing and retrofitting household appliances, such as washers, dryers, and water heaters with technology to communicate and respond to market signals and user preferences via home automation technology will be a significant challenge. Substantial investment will be required….

These controls and tools could reduce the occurrence of outages and power disturbances attributed to grid overload. They could also reduce planned rolling brownouts and blackouts like those implemented during the energy crisis in California in 2000.

But as usually government plans (especially Obummers) do not turn out to be on time, on budget or workable. So expected the smart grid to be the usual SNAFU.

A power systems engineer in a comment at WUWT said: “Letting non-professionals get involved in the power grid is like giving the keys to the family car and a bottle of whiskey to a 14 year old boy and his pals. If the renewables were viable, we’d adopt them by the train-load and build them so fast your head would spin.”

People who figured out smart meters = power company shuts off your power at will are fighting back and the power companies are retaliating.

Don’t want smart meter? Power shut off
The rollout of smart electric meters across the country has run into a few snags: one woman doesn’t want one, and ended up in the dark as a result.

You might not think that would be an issue. But it is, because Duke Energy is now beginning to disconnect any homeowner who refuses a new electric meter.

Other electric companies are not pulling the plug…yet…..

19 Dec: UK Independent: Emily Gosden: Hundreds of businesses to be paid to switch off to prevent blackouts

Businesses could be paid to shut down from 4pm and 8pm on winter weekdays, under plans approved by regulator Ofgem

Hundreds of businesses could be paid to switch off their power between 4pm and 8pm on winter weekdays as soon as next winter to prevent blackouts, under plans approved by regulator Ofgem.

Mothballed old gas-fired power stations will also be paid to come back to stand-by so they can be fired up to prevent the lights going out when demand is high…
          (wwwDOT)telegraph.co.uk/finance/newsbysector/energy/10528157/Hundreds-of-businesses-to-be-paid-to-switch-off-to-prevent-blackouts.html

No matter how you slice it Wind and Solar can not take the place of coal and nuclear. Natural gas, which was slated to take over from coal is running into the NIMBY problem (I do not think Enron, BP and Shell had counted on that when they the hatched global warming hoax.)

How much intermittent solar and wind can the grid stand?
Windmills Overload East Europe’s Grid Risking Blackout: Germany is dumping electricity on its unwilling neighbors and by wintertime the feud should come to a head. Central and Eastern European countries are moving to disconnect their power lines from Germany’s during the windiest days.

What was the amount of variable power that upset the European power grid? Not enough to cover the amount of power generation coming off line in the USA. That is for darn sure!

…all is not well with the Energiewende. According to figures from the German Federal Ministry, the 22,962 wind turbines operating at the end of 2012 provided only 7.3 percent of the nation’s electricity and about 1.8 percent of the nation’s energy consumption. Despite the location of many turbines on the windy North Sea, German wind turbines operated at a capacity factor (actual output vs. rated output) of only 17 percent in 2012.

The low capacity factor of German wind turbines makes wind electricity expensive. Driven by increased costs from renewables, household electricity rates almost doubled from 13.9 eurocents per kilowatt-hour to 26.0 eurocents per kilowatt-hour from 2000 to 2013. Today, Germany has the second highest electricity rates in Europe, more than triple U.S. electricity prices.

I can’t believe I’m writing this but there is an excellent article from the November 11, 2011 New York Times Energy and Environment section entitled A Gold Rush of Subsidies in Clean Energy Search that describes in great detail the “financials” of a large commercial solar project in California. Pay particular attention to the attending graphic. This is not a concentrated solar project. The money quote:

“P.G.& E., and ultimately its electric customers, will pay NRG $150 to $180 a megawatt-hour… that was about 50 percent more than the expected market cost of electricity in California from a newly built gas-powered plant. While neither state regulators nor the companies will divulge all the details, the extra cost to ratepayers amounts to a $462 million subsidy, according to Booz, which calculated the present value of the higher rates over the life of the contracts …
          (wwwDOT)nytimes.com/2011/11/12/business/energy-environment/a-cornucopia-of-help-for-renewable-energy.html?pagewanted=all&_r=0

This project will cost 1.6 Billion and the return to investors is 384 Million before construction even begins.

That type of information getting out to the people whose electric is now very expensive AND unreliable is going to cause a backlash.

    Harry Huffman, and Gail Combs,

You’re on the right track. They are NOT communists. And calling them such doesn’t help our “conservative” (Normal American) cause.

Our opponents, of whom the Man-made Global Warming cult is just the tip of the iceberg, are best called Politically Correct Progressives. In this very clear terminology, “Political Correctness” is their fundamental belief system. It is the key common denominator between all the flavors of PC-Progressives (global warmers, environmentalists, anti-heterosexual, anti-capitalism, anti-male, anti-science, anti-controlled immigration, anti-etc).

The PC-Prog belief system can be summed up in two sentences:

“America is a racist, sexist, homophobic, foreigner-hating, imperialist, capitalist hell-hole. And it must be changed.”

The first lays out the targets for their hate–Traditional America. And the second lays out the action part–which ultimately leads to death camps.

Gail identified an effort at influencing American culture through the education system. The focus on Dewey is about half right. Dewey was targeted by the operation that created PC-Prog American hate, but ended up rejected their overtures. However, his colleague at Columbia Teachers College, George S. Counts actively accepted the offer. Counts’ “Progressive Education Association” and his writings were the center of the operation designed to destroy American exceptionalism via the academy and K-12 education.

But don’t forget that the operation to destroy American culture also targeted Hollywood and the media. This is why those two domains, along with education/academia are in the vanguard of hating Normal America.

      ….
You are correct they are not ‘Communists’ As far as I can tell ‘Communism’ as a governing plan was tested in the USSR, found to not work and the plug was pulled.

Now we have the Progressives who are pushing the ‘Third Way’ This includes Bill Clinton who teaches at the London School of Economics (LSE), ex-Prime Minister Tony Blair, a Fabian, who also teaches at LSE and the head of the Fabian founded LSE, Anthony Giddens. Even China is moving towards the ‘Third Way’

      SEE: http://www.thirdway.org/
They even have a picture with Obummer and FDR prominently displayed. The New Deal was another flavor of the “Third Way” which was know at the time as FASCISM.

THE PROGRESSIVE ERA’S LEGACY: FDR’S NEW DEAL

..“The New Deal,” writes Jonah Goldberg, “was conceived at the climax of a worldwide fascist moment, a moment when socialists in many countries were increasingly becoming nationalists and nationalists could embrace nothing other than socialism.”

Many of Roosevelt’s ideas and policies were entirely indistinguishable from the fascism of Mussolini. In fact, writes Goldberg, there were “many common features among New Deal liberalism, Italian Fascism, and German National Socialism, all of which shared many of the same historical and intellectual forebears.” Like American progressives, many Italian Fascist and German Nazi intellectuals championed a “middle” or “Third Way” between capitalism and socialism. Goldberg explains:

“The ‘middle way’ sounds moderate and un-radical. Its appeal is that it sounds unideological and freethinking. But philosophically the Third Way is not mere difference splitting; it is utopian and authoritarian. Its utopian aspect becomes manifest in its antagonism to the idea that politics is about trade-offs. The Third Wayer says that there are no false choices—’I refuse to accept that X should come at the expense of Y.’ The Third Way holds that we can have capitalism and socialism, individual liberty and absolute unity.”

The German and American New Deals — i.e., fascism and progressivism — also shared the bedrock belief that the state should be permitted to do whatever it wished, so long as it was for “good reasons.” Chief among those “good reasons” was the idea that government’s purpose was to protect the interests of “the forgotten man,” on whose behalf both FDR and Hitler were proficient at projecting deep concern.….

Socialists and Progressives of course are now calling Fascism ‘Right-wing’ to distance themselves from the Hitler mess as they try to put the SAME philosophy into practice. This is typical liberal lying. see: (wwwDOT)maggiesnotebook.com/history-of-democrat-racism/

Rosa Koire, a democrat and a socialist calls it “corporatocracy” (more correctly neo-corporatocracy) or “the New Feudalism. Neo-Feudalism. Peonage. The specific plan is called United Nations Agenda 21 Sustainable Development, which has its basis in Communitarianism. “

E.M. Smith does a great job of explaining the economic continuum from laissez faire to totalitarianism/communism: http://chiefio.wordpress.com/2011/03/14/forget-gen-x-now-its-generation-hot/#comment-14483

He also makes it very clear that big corporations are ANTI-CAPITALISM (laissez faire capitalism) and explains why. This is why our country has continued to head toward a totalitarian government controlled by the bankers and corporations aka The Elite.

        Gail,

No need to research Counts–I’ve already done that for you!

Here’s an article that provides an overview of the Counts operation:

        http://intelctweekly.blogspot.com/2012/07/covert-influence-target-american.html

“In the late 1920s, through the early 1930s, Counts traveled extensively in the USSR, where he was surely met and cultivated by the KGB. His book, Dare the Schools Build a New Social Order? (1932), reveals the goals of the Soviets in the title, annihilation of the American social order. Counts’ covert influence operations were substantial. Russia provided him with a Soviet textbook, initially used in the Soviet Union as an indoctrination tool for children in their education system. The Russians provided Counts with an English translation, which he brought to America and published. His introduction to the book, New Russia’s Primer: The Story of the Five-Year Plan (1931), waxed eloquently and enthusiastically in support of a collectivized economy. This book is a good example of a typical communist covert influence payload. Without actually calling for the communization of American society, and speaking in the coded language of covert influence, Counts laid the foundation of a logical and reasonable argument.”

        • Gail Combs says:

Actually I wanted to check and see if George S. Counts was mentioned in the book SPIES, The Rise and Fall of the KGB in America.

John Dewey is mention as are several journalists: Ernest Hemingway (Argo) I.F. Stone (Pancake), Samuel Krafdur (Ide), John Spivak (Grin), Walter Lippmann (Bumblebee)…

Most of the soviet spies were journalists because they could ask question with no one thinking anything of it and could be used to influence public opinion. They were also used as ‘Talent spotters’ and to feel out people ‘of interest’

(I am still reading the book)

        • Kent Clizbe says:

          Gail,

“Spies” is a useful reference for KGB “collection” operations, as are most Klehr/Haynes works.

My book, “Willing Accomplices” focuses, as none have ever before on the KGB’s “influence” operations.

A collection operation (stealing secrets) helps the collector to understand his target culture.

An influence operation allows the influencer to shape his target culture.

The influence operation that you seem to sense, but don’t yet seem to have details on, was a massive undertaking, master-minded by the Comintern’s genius of influence, Willi Muenzenberg.

The Fabians, Gramsci, Alynski, and all the other “influencers” that are commonly discussed are all branches of Muenzenberg’s operation.

Muenzenberg targeted the three transmission belts of American culture: the media, academia/education, and Hollywood. He created front organizations with high-sounding names (e.g. “Hollywood Anti-Fascist League”).

His goal was to destroy normal American culture. He succeeded–about 75 years later than he expected to, but he succeeded nonetheless.

    • Gail Combs says:

They have been ramping up the HATE campaign for a few years now.

They keep floating trial balloons to get people ‘used to the idea’ that ‘Deniers’ are criminals and should be punished.

It is a method of desensitizing people. At first people will react violently against the suggestion but after a while it becomes ho-hum and they can then advance to the next stage. The truly sad part is the people who go to jail are the kids who are brain washed and not the instigators in academia.

This type of hate campaign should be taken VERY VERY SERIOUSLY. The take away from the following Congressional Testimony is violent organizations, “Earth First!” and the Earth Liberation Front (ELF) already exist who are actively engaged in acts of arson, sabotage and other types of property destruction.

      Congressional Testimony
      …Counterterrorism Division, FBI
      “The Threat of Eco-Terrorism”
During the past decade we have witnessed dramatic changes in the nature of the terrorist threat. In the 1990s, right-wing extremism overtook left-wing terrorism as the most dangerous domestic terrorist threat to the country. During the past several years, special interest extremism, as characterized by the Animal Liberation Front (ALF) and the Earth Liberation Front (ELF), has emerged as a serious terrorist threat…. The FBI estimates that the ALF/ELF have committed more than 600 criminal acts in the United States since 1996, resulting in damages in excess of 43 million dollars.

Special interest terrorism differs from traditional right-wing and left-wing terrorism in that extremist special interest groups seek to resolve specific issues, rather than effect widespread political change. Special interest extremists continue to conduct acts of politically motivated violence to force segments of society, including the general public, to change attitudes about issues considered important to their causes. These groups occupy the extreme fringes of animal rights, pro-life, environmental, anti-nuclear, and other movements. Some special interest extremists — most notably within the animal rights and environmental movements — have turned increasingly toward vandalism and terrorist activity in attempts to further their causes.

In recent years, the Animal Liberation Front (ALF) has become one of the most active extremist elements in the United States….

Disaffected environmentalists, in 1980, formed a radical group called “Earth First!” and engaged in a series of protests and civil disobedience events. In 1984, however, members introduced “tree spiking” (insertion of metal or ceramic spikes in trees in an effort to damage saws) as a tactic to thwart logging… In 1993, the ELF was listed for the first time along with the ALF in a communique declaring solidarity in actions between the two groups. This unity continues today with a crossover of leadership and membership. It is not uncommon for the ALF and the ELF to post joint declarations of responsibility for criminal actions …

The ELF advocates “monkeywrenching,” a euphemism for acts of sabotage and property destruction against industries and other entities perceived to be damaging to the natural environment. “Monkeywrenching” includes tree spiking, arson, sabotage of logging or construction equipment, and other types of property destruction….The most destructive practice of the ALF/ELF is arson. The ALF/ELF members consistently use improvised incendiary devices equipped with crude but effective timing mechanisms. These incendiary devices are often constructed based upon instructions found on the ALF/ELF websites….

    Presidential lying
    http://catallaxyfiles.com/2014/03/30/presidential-lying/

Part of the interest in following politics in the US is to see just how corrupt it is, with the heart of that corruption in the media reporting. The certainty that the mainstream media will lie at every turn to protect a Democrat, and do the same to harm a Republican, is as plain as day but almost never discussed. Three instances have come up in the past two days of the ways in which the news is suppressed and distorted.

  20. Bob Knows says:

Yes. The assertion that Democrats were “taken over” by communists is erroneous. It asserts that Democrats were previously not communist, and that is erroneous. Democrat and communist are simply two versions of the same political perspective that big government can and should provide for all the needs of people.

    • Gail Combs says:

That is not quite correct. The Progressives from what I can dig out are ‘Fabians’
      1. The Fabian Society was founded in 1884. It is a socialist society committed to gradual social reform. The Communists are in favor of the VIOLENT over throw of the government.

      2. Communists are atheists while socialists can be Christian.

      3. The Communists want the government in control of everything. The Fabians are not quite that far left, hence the “Third Way” which allows banks and big corporations to control the government. The key of course is that ‘Control” is not left in the hands of the peons. Think neo-feudalism. This is a diehard Socialist warning about what the Fabians are up to: link (She calls it Communitarianism.)

I strongly recommend her video of her speech at a Tea Party meeting:
      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QK2sZUs2l_U

Calling a Socialist or Progressive a Communist in their eyes just shows you are ignorant and does not win points. It also means you do not spot the moves the Progressives are making. This confusion is one of their biggest weapons.

Also you have to understand the enemy in order to think like him so you can defeat them.

Beware The Fabian Society… This site has a lot of information on the Fabian society and is well worth wandering through their articles on the Fabians.

  21. Kent Clizbe says:

    Gail,

You’re spot-on with your warning about falling into PC-Progressives’ terminology trap.

Calling them “communists” or “socialists” just makes us look foolish.

Politically Correct Progressives hate Normal America. That is their belief system.

They are not interested in collectivizing industry, or installing a Marxist system. They are only anti-Normal-American.

They want to destroy anything that is associated with Normal America. That is the extent of what they believe. They are NOT “leftists” either.

Terminology that explicitly identifies our opponents, and an understanding of their belief system, which most of them do not even understand, is an incredibly powerful first step in counter-acting their operations–like AGW.

Once you understand PC-Progs’ are about destroying Normal American culture, then AGW makes complete sense. Our way of life and economy are built on cheap, economical, plentiful oil and gas. To destroy our Normal American way of life and economy, there is no more efficient point of attack than the fuel of Normal America.

AGW is simply a stick PC-Progs use to beat Normal American economy and way of life.

Nothing to do with socialism, leftism, communism or any other -ism. Pure hate-Normal-America Politically Correct Progressivism.

    • Gail Combs says:

Kent, I will have to scrounge up the money to buy your book. (In a few months several big expenses hitting in the next couple months.)

I do remember reading in the Wall Street journal, (April 1994?) a small article hidden on the back pages that said records from the Kremlin showed that activist groups in the USA were not only financed by the KGB but headed by KGB agents.

That story was one of the reasons I bought SPIES

I am also well aware of Willi Muenzenberg. My Brother as a freshmen in college got sucked in by a Communist front group. The dinning room table arguments at thanksgiving are what convinced me at the tender age of 8 that Communism was nothing but a big scam.

(BTW, if I had not moved 40 times in 20 years I probably would have ended up working for the CIA. I still have the application form they sent me in response to my resume.)

    • Gail Combs says:

From what I can see via Pascal Lamy the goal is to destroy the USA so the leaders can have a world government.

“Nothing to do with socialism, leftism, communism or any other -ism. Pure hate-Normal-America Politically Correct Progressivism.”

If you turn that around and ask what is normal America?
      1. Individual freedom
      2. Limited government
      3. belief in the community
      4. Our Constitution – AS WRITTEN
      5. English language
      6. Judeo-Christian religions as our moral code.

All of these are what are under attack.

I often think that Marx was paid to write a giant joke on the human race whose sole point was the destruction of the middle class and the reinstatement of serfdom. After all if you can not OWN property you ARE property.
