Hollister, California

Hollister is famous for several things – bikers, unattractive brand name clothing, and aseismic creep.

The Wikipedia image is misnamed, The distortion in the sidewalk is along the Calaveras Fault, not the San Andreas Fault. Hollister is famous for having very common micro-earthquakes, which cause the land to slowly creep laterally.

The fault continuously releases stress through small earthquakes, which is probably preferable to infrequent catastrophic faults. Either way the land is going to move the same distance.

The nearby San Andreas fault moves on average at the same rate as a fingernail grows, two inches per year. At that rate, Los Angeles and San Francisco will be adjacent in fifteen million years.
