The Best Stories Of All Time

I have three favorite life stories:

Odysseus spent 20 years lost in the wilderness, because he believed he was in control. The gods were angry at him, and would not let him return home until he acknowledged that they controlled his fate.

Adam and Eve were sent out of the Garden of Eden for rejecting the grace God had given them, and replacing it with their feeble intellects. That is a story which we all deal with constantly in our lives.

Lot’s wife was turned into a pillar of salt, because she looked back. Looking back is a rejection of the path we are on, and ties into the two stories above.

He who hesitates, is lost

‘So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of My mouth. – Revelation 3:16

For it is written: “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise; the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate.” 1 Corinthians 1:19. How many AGW papers have been tossed in the recycle bin with over 18 years of no global warming?

  2. gator69 says:

“Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves.
    -Matthew 7:15

Right action lies where “He who hesitates is lost” meets “Look before you leap.” He who can honor both those aphorisms in one action is indeed a master.

  4. darrylb says:

I remember one verse that I learned about 60 years ago
James 3, 8 “For no human being can tame the tongue, a restless evil full of deadly poison..”
The AGW gang keeps getting more restless and hurtful. .

  5. gofer says:

Obama “I am going to do the right thing……..I am doing, what I feel, is the right thing.” He has repeatedly said that, most recently on executive amnesty and most likely on Iran.

Being the Christian, he claims to be, surely he has read the verse “There is a way that SEEMS RIGHT to man but the end thereof is death”. Especially when dealing with fanatics that feel the need to bring on the apocalypse, so the 12th Iman will arise, and whose religion justifies lieing.

  6. BobW in NC says:

God help us all! The US has turned from God!
“Jesus replied, “No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God.” Luke 9:62

  7. Jon Lonergan says:

Considering it was God who told George Bush to invade the Muslims I’ve got my doubts about these comments.
